Can you put shoes in a washing machine?

Depends on the shoes.  I wouldn't recommend putting your $300 Allen Edmonds through the wash, but a pair of sneakers or flip flops will make it through just fine.  Wash in cold water with 1/2 cup of  baking soda in the wash cycle and then a cup of white vinegar in the rinse cycle. This will help de-stink your shoes.  Let them air dry for a few days and be sure to remove any liners while they dry.

Yeaa well it depends on the shoe... I wouldn't put an expensive pair in the wash. Most shoes will go through fine but some will get messed up. You can always scrub the down in the sink. And then you could polish.. Some.

Oh a tip for drying them. Stuff them with newspaper to speed the process up abit!

I always wash my shoes in my washing machine and they come out looking brand spanking new!!! If your not comfortable with soaking your shoes in water, use the steam cycle on your washing machine.

Sure! Leather, rubber, and canvas are all fine to go through the wash. Though the dryer may beat them up and melt some plastic if you set the temp too high.
