I wouldn't chance it.  I wash my cross trainers all the time, and then just let them air dry.  I read the description of the simple shoes and I would be worried about the 100% cotton and paper shrinking or messing up.  The shoes would probably not fit the same way.

Try sprinkling baking soda in them and then letting them sit in the sun.  I have also heard newspaper helps remove odors ( if that is the problem).

Yes. Dryer is noisy and it's best to air dry with the tongues and insteps pulled out.  Washing too much can shrink them too.
