Question:

Can you put straight unleaded petrol into a 4-stroke dirt bike?

some one told me you have to add something to it other wise over time the engine will f**k up. (hes not talking about a 2-stroke)

  1. The requirements of a 4-stroke engine are gasoline only with no additives.


  2. You only add oil to a 2-stroke, your "someone" is misinformed or an idiot.

  3. The second guy is right, your friend or that some one of yours is an idiot.  The only thing you may want to add is fuel stabilizer if you are going to store the bike with gas over a long period of time.

  5. All modern 4 stroke engines are designed to run on unleaded. If its a very old engine then the valves and valve seats aren't made of a hard enough material for unleaded and will wear quicker than normal. But then they will wear out fast, even if you had access to leaded gasoline
