  7. d**n! 20!?!

I can't even count that many with my fingers!

  8. 1. Miguel Cotto ( A little biased but he is great)

    2. Thomas Hearns his name just stands out amougnst the people you have choosen because what he had was Hagler, Duran and Leanord to fight, and greats need other great fighters and fights to put them to the next level.

    3. Marco Antonio Barrera Again he has had the wars like Hearns that put him on another level, Facing off against Pacquaio, Morrales and Marquez puts Barrera 3rd on this list.

Just making a sub list here (Note this was done after I ranked the top 3) of fighters who shouldn't be mentioned with the other fighters on the list. 1. Paulie M, A decent fighter but shouldn't be ranked amoungst these people. 2. Arturo Gatti, A C class fighter at best people thought he was better than he was because of the trilogy with Micky Ward, Yes Gatti won a world title but there was alot of speculation that he was overweight and weighed in too briefly with his trainers foot under the scales 3. Lloyd Honeyghan  A one hit wonder if I ever saw one.

So those guys will be my

    18.  Arturo Gatti

    19. Lloyd Honeyghan

    20. Paulie M

    Anyway back to the rest

    4. Naz Hamed- Changed everyone's opinions about featherweights, There would be no Manny Pacquiao if it wasn't for Naz because featherweights would not be on TV!

His out of the ring activities ruined his career he could have been one of the very best! P4P one of the hardest punchers of alltime with Julian Jackson.

5.Roy Jones Jr, Untouchable in his prime but the steriods let him down, Has gone down and rightly so in alot of people's opinions after that story was leaked but still deserves to be in the top 5.

    6. Oscar De La Hoya- The golden boy nothing more needs to be said.

    7. Tito Trinidad- Was never as good when he fought with legal hand wraps, Bernard Hopkins who would top this list btw if included proven that.

    8. Shane Mosley A future Hall of Famer.

    9. Iron Mike Tyson- His reputation was better than his Punch and he ruled the heavyweights at a weak time which made people think he was better than he actually was!

    10. Joe Calzaghe, His hand really let him down, He has the reputation of a slapper (Im Welsh btw so Im trying not to be biased) The 2nd best british fighter imo after Prince Naz in this list.

    11. Nigel Benn

    12. Chris Eubank

    13.Hatton

    14. Tyzu

    15. Curry

    16. Corrales

    17. Pavlik

  9. 1 Joe Calzaghe

    2 Oscar

    3 Hearns

    4 Paulie m

    5 Jones Jr

    6 Barrera

    7 Trinidad

    8 Tyson

    9 Honeyghan

    10 Curry

  10. this list is very subjective, and would probably be altered slightly if i was to answer it again......so here goes.

1~thomas hearns.... the "hit man" was the first to win titles in 5 divisions...beating leonard by just 3 days (unless you discount the WBO).....one of the greatest welterweights in history, came within a hairs whisker of defeating ray leonard and marvin hagler.

2~ roy jones jr....became the first 160 champ to claim (a portion of) the heavyweight title since fitzsimmons....was akward, fast and could punch your light out before you could blink.......is hurting his legacy by continuing on.

3~ oscar de la hoya....on the strength of his win over whitaker (however you may have judged it)...also beat some of the best around  including the elusive but capable hector camacho and the dynamite punching ghanaian ike quartey (j c chavez was well over the hill at the time, so i won't mention that any further).

4~ felix trinidad.....beat de la hoya (again, regardless of how you saw it, it's still a win), made about 15 defences of his 147 title, and also won the 154 crown, and gave fernando vargas his first loss....equally hard puncher to quartey.

5~ berrera.....the baby-faced assassin, is a 4 time champion, and also ended hamed's career (although time will tell if naz returns or not).

6~ shane mosley....fought the best, and wasn't afraid (win or lose) to fight them again.

7~joe calzaghe....steady if sometimes unspectacular, keeps winning and may retire undefeated soon, but may have been a different story if he had been around when eubank, benn and collins were at their best.

8~ nigel benn...learned so much from his losses to watson and eubank, and when he settled down and relaxed, was a force to be reconned with while he stayed away from jones jr.....he tragic fight with mc clellen is one for the ages, as are his aforementioned wars with michael watson and chris eubank......the less said about his dirty win over barkley, the better.

9~kostya tszyu~ 2 time 140 champ, made multiple defences....beat juan la porte in his FORTH pro fight!!!

10~ chris eubank......too many favours from the judges prevent him from being higher, the watson tragedy may have made him gun shy, and the first fight with benn may have taken too much out of him, either way he was a class (if unorthodox) boxer who could have been better...is back in the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

11~don curry.....should have been much higher....ray leonard "advised" him to stay at 147 as long as possible, little knowing leonard had a hidden agenda of his own (to get to hagler first), huge mistake and was severly weight weakened when he fought honeyghan...at his best also overwhelemed top guys like milton mc crory,  and colin jones and twice outpointed marlon starling.

12~ hamed...the self-styled "prince" aspired to be another roy jones, but couldn't adapt whenever he met an all time great like berrera....tougher opponents earlier might have made a difference.

13~ mike tyson.....beat every active titleholder of the '80s, except witherspoon (arguably the second best of all the heavy champs of the '80s after holmes), abandoned skills for  the one punch ko and it hurt his performances...changes of management and trainers...destructive marriage and lifestyle led to him burning out early and landing in jail...should have been much higher.

14~ cotto..the best welter in the world since pbf retired....should clean up the division now.

15~ ricky hatton...say what you like, he keeps winning and only mayweather jr has beaten him......holds win over tzsyu.

16 ~corralles... was undefeated before facing mayweather, split two fights with cassamayor and jose luis castillo....could arguably be higher, i won't argue that point.

17~ pavlik..will be VERY much higher by the time his career is winding down.

18~ gatti, just wasn't good enough against the best.

19 ~honeyghan...although i was a huge honeyghan fan back in the day....better judgement prevails.

won title from weight weakened curry, only meaningful defence was against future champ bloker, who also took his title from a weight weakened champ (starling, who previoulsy had just challenged nunn for the 160 belt)....forgot boxing skills when becoming champ in order to look for the kayo.

20~ malignaggi....only loss is to cotto, can't punch, looked bad against n'dou,  the hatton fight will tell us something.

  11. lads? wtf!?!

i dont know half the fighters u posted where did u take them out of?

  13. theres some good fighters in your list but my personal top 10 would be

    1 sugar ray leonard

    2 roberto duran

    3 julio cesar chavez

    4 roy jones junior

    5 marvin hagler

    6 thomas hearns

    7 osca del la hoya

    8 larry holmes

    9 mike tyson

    10 nigel benn

    8

  14. 1 Roy Jones Jr. (there can be no question about this one).

    2 De La Hoya

    3 Barrera

    4 Hearns

    5 Trinidad

    6 Mosley

    7 Tyson

    8 Calzaghe

    9 Tszyu

    10 Cotto

I would base this more on accomplishment than natural talent. I think a guy like Hamed could possibly have beaten a couple guys in my top 10 on talent had he chosen to actually dedicate himself to the craft.

Gatti was probably my favourite fighter to watch on the list, but anybody who doesn't have him at #20 is retarded.

  15. Hearns

    Jones Jr

    Trinidad

    Oscar

    Tyson

    Mosley

    Tszyu

    Barrera

    Corrales

    Curry

    Benn

    Eubank

    Gatti

    Hamed

    Honeygan

The rest still have a lot to prove to get on a list with these top fighters who are retired

from your last 5 it is hard to say as we dont know what they are going to go on to achieve what i would say is Calzaghe is in prime position at the moment but Cotto has the most potential. Hatton and Pavlik are both potential hall of famers and Malignaggi does not deserve to be on this list.

Im sorry im British and love Calzaghe as a fighter but to put Joe ahead of the achievements of people who are 5 weight world champs and have been in with the best fighters ever without doubt is amazing to me. Roy and Tommy are miles ahead of this list.

  16. In their primes...

    1. Roy Jones Jr

    2. Kostya Tszu

    3. Marco Antonio Barrera

    4. Miguel Cotto

    5. Kelly Pavlik

    6. Thomas Hearns

    7. Oscar De La Hoya

    8. Felix Trinidad

    9. Joe Calzaghe

    10. Shane Mosely

    11. Mike Tyson

    12. Donald Curry

    13. Ricky Hatton

    14. Eubanks

    15. Nassim Hammed

  17. 1.Roy Jones Jr

    2.Shane Mosley

    3. Oscar DeLaHoya

    4. Thomas Hearns

    5. Nigel Benn

    6. Marco Antonio Barrera

    7. Mike Tyson

    8. Migual Cotto

    9. Kostya Tszyu

    10. Kelly Pavlik

    11. Joe Calzaghe

    12. Ricky Hatton

    13. Arturo Gatti

    14. Donald Curry

    15. Loyde Honeyghan (unless your talking about that Honeyghan guy from the early 30's or so)

    16. Diego Corrales

    17.Naseem Hamed

    18. (Eubanks - not sure who you mean)

    19. (Felix Trinidad - forgot to add, top 5 somewhere)

    20. Pauli Malinagi

Im not sure who you meant by Eubanks? If your talking about Chris Eubank - then he would rank around 12.

I forgot to add Trinidad, he would be somewhere in the top 5.

Its a pretty weired group of guys, I mean guys like Jones Jr,Hearns,DeLaHoya,Benn and Mosley,Trinidad would be leagues and leagues above some of the others. But that would be my picks out of 20.

Migual Cotto has the potential to be at least # 2, but for now Ill leave im at # 9 until this weekend.

I just went by Accomplishments + Skill + potential
