Can you put two diffrent breeds of parrot togather.?

I have a couner and i whant to get a quaker can you put them in the same cage and can they mate.

  1. probably not much of a chance they will mate, but they should get along.  i used to have a Blue Crown and a Sun conure and they became closely bonded, although they were both males.


  2. I had an Amazon Red Tail and an Umbrella Cockatoo together before, I originally had them in different cages but they clearly wanted to be together, so I introduced them to each other  and they got along great, but Quaker's can be mean. Supervise for awhile.  

  3. It depends on the individual birds. They're both close enough in size/husbandry needs to technically be housed together, it's just a matter of if you're Conure will accept a new bird enough to live in the same cage with it.

    Quakers can be very territorial about their cage as well. It might work out with the Quaker being the new bird if you're planning on getting a weaned chick from a breeder,(after a slow proper introduction of course) but you never know.

    They can not mate together. 2 Different Species, they're just not compatible enough.
