Can you put up banners?

can you put up signs and banners advertiseing you business around town, local councill made me take them down

  1. You can ask (or pay!) to put banners on private property


  2. That's what councils do. Their concern is that if you do it then everyone else will so there would be signs everywhere. Plus they need to think about the legal aspect. For exampe, if you have a sign that comes off the wall on a windy day and flys into the window of a car and causes an accident then you might get into a bit of trouble.

  3. It's illegal but the council rarely pursue you for it, they just remove and destroy them. That's why new home developments use the printed correx signs to direct you to their development - bought in bulk they cost next to nothing so they don't mind losing them!

    Most towns also ask that you pay for a permit to site an A board outside your premises. Again, the penalty for not coughing up the cash is to remove the sign.

    Have you thought about adding magnetic vehicle signs to your car or having it liveried? You can then park your car in different places that have a lot of pedestrians passing by.
