Can you put ur ipod songs onto your itunes?

I just got a new computer so naturally i reinstalled itunes but i can only listen to my songs when my ipod is connected, can i get the songs from my ipod to stay on my itunes?

you need to download a ipod to computer converter thing. i did it before but i forgot where i got it from, sorry!
