Can you "become" schizophrenic? ?

don't get me wrong, i'm not looking to "become" schizophrenic. I'm just wondering if it's a genetic thing or if it is environmental, or both? Thanks =]

...im schizophrrenic, and i really dont see why pp;l want to become one. I want to get rid of it, not keep it. its not like its a trophy of ANY sort.................
