  1. There's no way any of us parents could possibly rank these from least to worse, because NO parent likes seeing their kid sick. It just plain flat out breaks your heart!

  3. worst meningococcal menigitis-anything where the brain is swelling is bad! 10 percent fatality rate

    hib the risk of the haemophilus influenza is only really to kids under 5, but it again can cause swelling of the menenges (bacterial menigitis)

    hep b the liver is important, chronic diseases of the liver aren't good

    tetnus (DTap) lockjaw needs medical tx

    polio- 90 percent are asymptomatic, the last case of wild polio in the US was 1979

    pneumococcal- pneumonia isn't too worrisome, its treated at home with penicillin

    pertussis (DTap)  whooping cough can be hard to catch your breath

    measles- 0.01 percent have a serious reaction you have a face rash

    mumps-20-30 percent are asymptomatic, you have some facial swelling and treatment is at home with tylenol

    varicella- chickenpox

    hep A- flu like

    flu

    rotavirus- diarrhea

    diptheria-virtually eliminated

    rubella- usually passes unnoticed

  5. most people don't even know anything about these thanks to vaccinations, but overall meningococcal meningitis would be the most immediate life threatening, polio really bad too

  6. I'd say meningococcal would be first, then pneumococcal or polio next. i'm not sure what Hib or Dtap is but I know my children have been vaccinated for all of these diseases. I would say Varicella would be the least concerning to me though.
