Can you re-grip a golf club yourself?

  1. yes, you can, but i would recommend getting someone to do it for you, just to make sure it is done correctly


  2. its fairly easy, just use a utility knife to cut the old grip off. remove the old tape. stick new tape on, apply some solvent and then slide the new grip on and let it dry.

  3. No reason why you can't. Many golf stores sell sets of grips as well as provide regripping service. If you have the money , let the shop do it. If you want to learn the process, buy the grips and follow instructions. Make sure your grips will withstand rainy as well as dry weather. Most of all, they must be comfortable to the feel.

  4. Yes, if you have a golfsmith store nearby, they'll actually give you a tuturial.

  5. If you change grip only a couple times in a year, I recommend to ask a shop to do it.   It costs more to buy the equipment than paying somebody else to do it.   And buying the grip tape and grip solvents cost more than paying for grip installation labor.
