  1. It's a very small play. These sort of books are very cheap and most libraries should stock it as well. When I did An Inspector Calls at school I just asked the school librarian to order a copy. It might be easier to read and if you have your own copy you can highlight the words and bookmark the pages. It is also important to explain where your quotes come from so you'll need the page number. Personally I didn't find the internet very helpful on this one. Although a few J.B. Priestly appreciation sites did give me a good insight into the man himself. His plot lines all have an element of time and responsibility - hindsight, I suppose.

As I said the plays aren't long so you might be able to get a more well rounded understanding if you read his other plays as well. Dangerous Corner is one (I wasn't that keen on this one) and Time and the Conways (which I loved!)

Although, don't forget which play you are studying!!! If you start an essay on An Inspector Calls and and talk for three paragraphs about Time and the Conways - I fear you may get marked down!!!

    Hope this helped!!
