Can you really die from the cold relatively pain free?

Question

I thought "Death by Hibatchi" (CO2) was supposed to be painless, but now hear otherwise.

Can you really go somewhere cold and hang out with inadequete winter clothing and just fall asleep for eternity? Wouldn't you suffer from the chills and shaking associated with hypothermia first?

Would alcohol numb the chills, while allowing death to painlessly grab hold.

No, CO (not CO2) is a much better way.
