Question:

Can you really get paid £30,000 - £70,000 a year as a Telesales Executive?

I saw a telesales executive job available on monsterjobs, offering £40,000 a year to do it and it only asked for 2-3 years experience in telesales.

I've also seen other extremely high salaries available, including one job for £70,000 a year.

Is it really that easy to earn such money with 2-3 years experience?

Do you need qualifications to do this sort of job?

And how would one work themselves up in a job in order to be a telesales executive?

Would you just start of working in a regular telesales job for £9-12 an hour first or something?

Thanks in advance!

  1. No.

If it was that easy then everybody would be doing it wouldn't they?

It's all hype to lure you into it.

Do you really want to spend your life trying to persuade people into having things they don't really want?

  2. The £40,000 a year is what you COULD earn not what you will earn, sales companies will give you a basic salary which will be minimum wage and then you will get commission for each product/service you sell which will make up the other £30,000 (highly unlikely you'll make that kinda money). Its a ploy to reel people in, you'll get an interview believing you'll be earning £40,000 a year then you signthe contract and they drop the bombshell that its commission based!

  3. No, as well as YES, both can be said, because of the following;

    1.   Telesales jobs are not so easy.

    2.   One has to sit for eight hours day, attending or making calls, worst than desk job.

    3.   One has to be highly persuasive.

    4.   Usually, compensation is fixed salary, plus the Commission. Major part of compensation is through Commission.

    5.   Thus, total carry home will depends on the productive calls you make, which depends quite a lot on your luck.

There is no harm in giving a try, because you will be groomed and trained to mature deals on phone.

    With all the best.

  4. What does that break down to in U.S. dollars?

Telesales can be a wide range of different things.

If your using telesales to sell any type of residential product or service, you will probably only make around $20,000 a year. Unless you are selling health insurance, then you will make around $50,000 a year.

To make money in telesales, or INSIDE SALES, the best way to go is business to business.

Merchant account sales will net you about $70,000 a year.

Software sales will net you about $90,000 a year.

Commercial Insurance will net you over $100,000.

Yes, telesales will make you alot of money. But you have to be very motivated, and not everyone can do it. You have to be a closer and no how to talk to and persuade people. Most of this will be on commission and if you do not have the "selling" type of personality, I suggest not wasting your time.

  5. They're usually comission based, the more people you sell stuff to the more you earn, its reallly sly, the basic salary is probably really low they dont tell you what that is, and they just show off these figures of what you "could" earn
