Can you really hit the ball with your head?

I played volleyball from junior high through highschool... graduated several years ago... I went to play with some friends at the park who are a few years younger and they told me that you can now hit the ball with your head... is this true or just in olympic volleyball?? Thanks!

yeah if it wasnt my bff endia wouldnt hit 50 percent of her balls it is so hilarious she hits it with her head or her shoulder.

Yes its true. That happened at a tournament yesterday and it's a legal hit.

It is legal to hit the ball with your head, but i think it cant be intentional. It is really hard tho to get control of it.

Yes you can. You can hit using any part of your body.

In all rule sets, contact with your head is legal.  It is legal to contact the ball with any part of your body intentionally or by accident.  The only exception is high school and junior high rules does not allow any contact below the waist.

You can hit it with your head if you really want. It's a legal move, just a stupid one from a players point of view.

Yep you are allowed to hit the ball with your head,a nd really you are allowed to keep the ball up with any part of your body. I played and once or twice a guys was able to keep the ball up by kicking it, I also have seen a guy keep a ball up with their heads and it is legal.

It is however dumb to do tho because you don't have the control of your hands, but if needed you can use any part of your body including your head to keep the ball alive.
