Question:

Can you really patch a pool float?

My son bit a small hole in his favorite float ring. I tried using the patch stuff that came with it, and I even followed the directions! It kind of works. The float will stay blown up for about 15 minutes, then I have to press the patch back on and blow it up again. I know I will probably just have to buy another one, but I thought I'd ask if anyone has any experience successfully patching a pool float.

thanks

  1. They do have patch kits that work very well however it depends on how much the float cost. It may be cheaper just to buy a new one.

  2. Yeah, my dad patched my floats as a child.  I'm not sure what kind of glue it is, but you can research it on the internet and then use that glue, along with the patch that came with the float and that will work.  Hope this helps.  I think it's an epoxy time of glue that will dry clear and be waterproof as well.
