Can you really put scented oil on your air conditioner filter to freshen the air?

I'm moving into an apartment that has a big wall-unit AC. I've read that you can put a few drops of scented oil on the filter to make your home smell nice. It's a very small apartment, so do you think that this could really freshen the whole place?

Yes you can.  We have used it for years on air filter during the summer and winter months.  It only takes a few drops of scented oil to do a two story house so you may not want to over do it the first time.

Use the oil sparingly. It is very strong, especially in a small place. Try two drops to start and then you can always increase it. But you can't take it away is it is too much.

Start with 1 to 3 drops depending on the brand and how strong the oil is. Try different scent combinations.
