  1. yah but not exactly

  2. I really can't. Emails are emotionally opaque too. They often seem terse and irritable, when they were never meant to be. I imagine that's why people feel such a need to use emoticons everywhere.

  3. Well, for me personally, I can tell what someone's mood is. It really depends on the person I'm texting. For example, if I'm texting my best friend, she changes some words when she's sad or upset. I'm always like what's wrong and she says How did you know???? lol

Some people are easier to read than others.

  4. Sometimes you can by the content.

  5. No, I find texting very unreliable, it's so easy to be misunderstood or misunderstand what someone has said.

  6.   yes you can pick up what someone  is felling

or there mood is by there questing or answer st time

  7. I can usually, when I text someone I always put a kiss or smiley or a grumpy I don't like it when people text in capitals, makes me think they are shouting.

  8. not all the time.

you can be completely wrong in some cases and make the wrong suppositions.

  9. Yes, if you are very sensitive and those who send text messages to you are close to you or you know them well. There are also "smileys" and other text characters which are fancier than the normal ones we use, which could also reflect a text sender's mood.  Sometimes you just feel it - the emotion that goes with the message.

  10. sometimes from if they're texting diferently to normal. i.e my mum won't use shorthand if she's annoyed, or my boyfriend forgets his predictive text is rubbish and sends gobbledygoop when he's angry, spaces in wrong place when upset and not concentrating etc

  11. If you know that person really well and know how they text normally and how they text when someting is wrong, then yes.

  12. no, not unless the person indicates ....

it can seem abrupt at times, even though its not meant that way!!

  13. Nope, unless they put LOL after what they type, you can only tell mood by behavoir and gestures, which you can't see from a phone. You could easily read into something and take it the wrong way, using txting.

  14. Not always. It is open to interpretation as a mode of communication. Text messages do not show complex facial expressions or contain a tone of voice! If you are unsure about the overtones of a text it is best to call the person or speak to them face to face!!
