  1. no you have to have a certain car to do that

  2. Put a jar of veggie oil in the fridge, and the problem will become apparent.

You can solve that one of two ways:

    - Make the fuel thinner, they call that making biodiesel.

    - Modify the car's engine and tank so it doesn't mind thick fuel.

Thick fuel is nothing new, ships and old locomotives use stuff called "bunker" that's even thicker.  It's too thick to pump, so they preheat it with steam.  We use engine coolant, which means we have to start the engine on something else (regular diesel) and throw the switch over when it's warm.

  3. yes it is part of which is called biofuels.

  4. I have a neighbor that runs his Chevy Suburban on waste oil. It smells like fried chicken from behind.

It cuts the gov't out of tax money, though. Motor fuels are taxed at the pump. KFC's used fat isn't.

  5. with modifications, yes

  6. Yes, it's called biodiesel.

If you have a restaurant then you can save money using your used vegetable oil for your industrial machines...

  7. No modification needed for diesel engines.

But the used vegetable oil must be filtered first.

  10. Yes.  In order to use waste vegetable oil (WVO), you need to make a modification to a diesel engine and filter the oil.  To use biodiesel, you don't need any kind of modification.

See the link below for further details.
