  1. The Martingale strategy Does work...but you gotta have a huge wad of cash to start with as you may need to absorb several losses before you get a win.

  2. what about the 0 and double 00? its nat an even 50 50

  3. In the LONG run, you CANT win at roulette, never ever.

Let me explain. With a 0 & 00 roulette, the odds that the ball DOESNT fall on your color is 1.11 to 1 while your payout is 1 to 1. That 0.11 difference actually make ALL the difference.

Now with that famous theory that seem appealing, you are risking a lot of money to at BEST win some money in the short run, break even in the mid run or lose money in the long run.

The standard low stakes roulettes tables are as follow : 1 $ minimum to play inside, 15 $ min to play outside with a CAP of 500 $.

    1st bet : 15 $ . Lose . Total = -15 $

    2nd bet : 30$ . Lose . Total = -45 $

    3rd bet : 60$ . WIN. Total = +15 $

Yes you did make money.. in the short run.

Also note that with that strategy... you will NEVER make more money than your initial bet, which in this case is 15 $.

Even if you are at your 5th bet without a win, putting 240 $ on RED, that mean you have already invested 465 $, risking another 240 $ to get a mere 15 $... And still playing against the odds.

And what happen if you lose 6 time in a row ? Well you have lost 940 $... and the table is capped at 500 $.. You are ******... Lost 1k to get 15 bucks..

    Its indeed rat.

  4. no, it's all odds so nothing is certain.

  5. Nikko-Shonin is right.

  6. Thats a horrible idea.  For one thing the fact that there are two green spaces, the 0 and the 00, makes the odds less. also doubling your losses every time will increase your bet size each round exponentially.  Exponentials can get way out of hand extremely fast, even if you start with a low bet.  Roulette is the worst game in the casino, in terms of odds, for players.

  7. No, for three reasons.

One.  The odds aren't fifty-fifty because of the zero and the double-zero.

Two.  You need an INFINITELY LARGE bankroll to play.

Three.  The casinos have a house limit to how much you can bet.  Lose one, double up.

    Lose again, double up.

    Lose again, double up.

    Lose again, double up.

    Lose again, double up.

    Lose again, double up.

Lose again, try to double up.

The casino then tells you that you can't bet over $100.

  8. not true as you have a green 0.  In Vegas tthere are 2 green 0's so even less likely.

    not possible.

  9. If you bet on a single colour everytime, its even odds..Lets say there is no table maximum...so first spin

    £1 lose

    2nd £2 lose

    3rd £4 lose

    4th £8 lose

    5th £16 lose....

    6th £32  win....so you have gambled..£63 and won....nothing.

Ok if it had won at any point you would have doubled your money....but how much do you put on to start with.....would you be happy to win £1 to start with.....so add a '0' to all the figures above....after 5 losses you would be gambling £630 to win....nothing.   Do the maths.....its a mugs game....yes you can win, but its a gamble....that's why its called gambling.

  10. Odds are just under 50-50 of either red or black (there is th 0 and 00 also)

if you start with a $5 bet (a common minimum), and keep doubling it (keep losing), the fifth bet will be $80 if you lose that and the table max bet is $100, you are screwed. Other than that, as long as you keep from losing before the max, you will make $5 each 'cycle'.

  11. it works but you have to have a bankroll big enough to continue to double down, and you must know when to quit.

  12. Huge stake for a very insignificant return. For example. Lets say you lose the followings bets :- $5, $10, $20, $40, $80, $160, $320. You then double up again and bet $640 and win. Your total outlay is $1275. You have won $1280. That's a $5 profit. Most casino's will limit the amount you can bet on a colour. It's unrealistic and the return is negligable

  13. Jesus... Are you familiar with the basics of probability?

  14. Mathematically, it is possible.  However, it is likely that you will run out of funds before you win.

Simply doubling your stake each time will allow you to break even at best.  At worst, you can lose even then, because you have to remember that in Roulette, the outcome isn't ALWAYS either red or black.  There is also zero and double-zero, which are green, and that makes bets on both red AND black lose.  This is where the house's advantage on the color bets comes from.

The best way to make money in a casino is to own stock in the company that owns the casino.  As Harry Anderson once noted, "There are no non-profit casinos."
