Can you reassign DHCP servers to other than 1 computer?

My settings have been changed to the point in which my one computer is able to get internet because the DHCP server is assigning an ip address. My router and my other 3 computers arent able to access an ip address so is it possible that i can change the settings so that my router and my other computers are able to get an assigned number from my DHCP server?

  1. you only want one DHCP server per network. If you MUST have more than one, set up each server to issue a block of addresses so they do not conflict with each other.

for example, set one server to issue x*x.x*x.x*x.100 to 199 and the other server to issue x*x.x*x.x*x.200 to 255

  2. OK. some network basics might be needed. On a LOCAL network with say four computers and a router. The local machines all get DHCP from the ROUTER! It has a  DHCP server as part of its system.  If one machine on that network is working and all the others are failing to get an IP, the router is at fault.  Generally this can be fixed by simply rebooting the router.  You unplug it for 1 minute, reconnect power, wait for it to fully boot (generally about 1-2minutes all depends on the router). You can tell when all the lights have "settled down".

Then boot or reboot all the machines and all should work just fine.

The normal home setup is Internet--->Router --->All computers.

If you have some hookup besides that, we need to know how you hook up?
