  1. yes, but it would be very weak.

you would receive all the tv from the hemisphere pointing in your direction. this would make it very hard to select a channel.

tv stations point their antennas at the ground and try not to beam too much in to space. the strongest signals on teh moon would be from stations toward the limb of the earth.

  2. If there were a TV station on the moon, then yes if you were on the moon you could receive that station on a regular tv set.  Air isn't needed in the equation, so to speak.  Only problem is, in February of next year, you'd need that little converter box which is on sale now at KMart for 49.95.  Oh wait, that's only for stations on earth.  Does the FCC have authority for transmissions on the moon?

  3. I say it might be possible. If space shuttles can receive signals from Earth then I would say so.

  4. The question is....do they have cable?

And is there anything worth watching?

  5. Doubtful, or if you could, the reception would be terrible. At 250,000 miles, the signal is going to be severely attenuated. I'm only about 50 miles from Chicago, and I can't receive any television signals from there, except on a really clear night. Not even digital signals.

  6. Yes, but you'd need one heck of a big antenna. The signals are very weak by the time they reach the moon. (Unless they are beamed purposely in that direction.)
