  1. http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/MoneyTaxAndB...

    This site may help.

  2. not really what EU needs. You need to think that your country received taxes from your work during your lifetime. to move to another country and claim benefit is making a travesti of public wellfare. Your country received your taxes, in return they will pay your retirement pension. You can come to EU and receive your country's pay in your own currency.

this is not the way things are, but its the way it should be. EU is not a cow, to be milked by randoms.

  3. Each EU country has it own system. Here in Ireland for example when someone retired they get:

Free travel on all public transport. i.e buses, trains

    Free TV licence

    Free electrictricy

    Free fuel allowances

Free phoneline rental plus 60% calls free

    Free glasses, free health

Even €30.00 credit for mobile phones per month

Free car driving licence for those over 65

Don't know where you are base in Europe

    State Pension (Non-Contributory) is €190.00 a week

Contributory Pension is €250.00 a week

  4. I think so, although i think u may get less (winter heating etc.) something to ask the professionals

  5. As far as i know it is only your pension you can take, i used to live in Spain, my wife got a little DLA and had to give it up whilst we were there.

  6. No,  why do you think all the new EC countries drop outs come to this country, its because we are a soft touch.

  7. You need to get in touch with the benefits help line, it's  a free phone call and they should be able to tell you. There are different rules for different countries. You can claim your pension  and incapacity benefit in some. The rules are very complicated and not all the staff at the benefit agency understand them. So please look into this very carefully. My husband pays UK tax and national insurance although he works in another country but I can't claim my DLA  whilst living with him.

  8. If you are a citizen of any E.U.Country and you move to another E.U. Country, you can receive your Pension in that Country, or have it paid to you by your own Country. Of course it will depend on yourself which pays the highest pension. You will not receive the other benefits which your Country may pay, such as fuel allowances etc.
