  1. Yes. Every single school day at my elementary school, it was a requirement (during the early-mid 90s). Not only the Pledge of Allegiance, but the Star-Spangled Banner (National Anthem) as well. So, after years of reciting it daily, I am proud to say that I do know it without having to look up the words.

  2. Yes indeed! I am a proud American and can recite the pledge by heart.

  3. Sure can. But can you explain to me why it says "and to the republic for which it stands". Yet we claim to be a democracy. Whats up with that?

  4. In English and Spanish.

  5. Well everyone beat me, but h**l yes I can. I'm a proud American!

  6. yes i can and i am proud of it!

  7. Yes, when I was in elementary school we said it everyday!  That's been a LONG time...

  8. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America. And to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible with Liberty and Justice for all. I am just as proud to say this as I was when I was in elementary school.

  9. yes

  10. Sorry, but NO; I cannot.

But on the plus side I can sing 'God save the Queen" and I can sing "Oh,Canada " in both official languages. And I do know a bit of the American National Anthem. That should count for something; right?

Is this a trick Democrat-Republican question?

  11. Absolutely.  In fact while growing up and in school, the reciting of the "pledge" happened every single morning before class began.

To the answerer above, this Nation is a Democratic Republic

  12. When I grew up in a country that was not afraid to be one nation under God and did not import all of its workers from other countries we said the pledge of allegiance everyday before class, so yes I remember it word for word.

In the country we live in these days those words may get you arrested.

  13. Yup.  It's a shame you even have to ask the question.  It wasn't that long ago that everyone would have said "of course".
