Can you recommend a Master's program in Anthropology that requires only one-year residency?

I'm looking for an Anthropology program that requires a one-year residency followed by a practicum or thesis to fullfill all required credits. I live overseas and will have to return to the states to do a program, but I would prefer to spend only one year in the US. I am not an international student; I am a US citizen with a BA from a US university. Thank you in advance.

Try SOAS or LSE; I think they both offer a one-year degree.

The University of Chicago, which has social programs that are among the most prestigious in the world, offers a Masters of Arts Program in the Social Sciences every academic year. It's a one-year program that takes hundreds of students from across the social sciences, gives them a good, foundational knowledge in each of the major social disciplines, and allows them to focus on one. I'm a MAPSS grad myself, and I'll tell you that even though U of C is a stuffy place, and the degree is expensive, it's worth it.

Well, since you are overseas already, depending on what area of Anthro you are interested in, check out British universities. Many of them (University of Glasgow comes to mind) offer one-year master's programs. They are one year because they concentrate on your area of specialization (for example, I looked at U of Glasgow's MS in Osteology program) without providing more general, four-field classes. But keep in mind that because they are so narrowly focused, they are not thought of as highly in the States. Can't recommend any master's programs in the States, b/c I only applied to combined master's/PhD programs, sorry!
