Must be super durable for the kitchen. Want to cover our natural lower grade wood floors. Getting them refinished seems like a huge hassel!!

  1. you should try lumber liquidators, they are the cheapest in the wholesale to public, but if you really want a deal find a building supply auction, they normally have bunches of the stuff and at dirt cheap prices.  what ever you choose, make sure it has padding built into the floor to avoid the hollow thudding sound that lam makes.    type in your state or city/building supply auctions and see what comes up, to me pergo is overrated and overpriced.  try calling a floor place that sells to professional flooring contractors, they have better quality products and lower prices than the retail stores such as Lowe's andhome depott.

  2. Might be a hassle but you are probably looking at starting around $5.00 a sq. ft. for the laminate & installation.

Any flooring store will have several choices.

I usually go with Pergo or quick step.

  3. Check out the following page on laminate flooring - you can learn more about the product and hopefully will find more help there:

There's also a quick click flooring guide on the following page:

    Hope this helps!

  4. I put pergo in my kitchen and laundry room.   Went to Home Depot and Lowes, bought the small samples.  After comparing all the choices I returned the samples and purchased what I wanted.

The floating floors are so easy to install.
