When I was young I used to adore reading Enid Blyton's Famous Five but after finishing all of them, I cannot find a good book that leaves you glued to it. I have been spending these last five years going to the library and bringing home books which I do not read at all. I like adventure (kind of Famous five) but I am sixteen, so the book must not be babyish. Besides I would really be happy if it would be rich in good English vocab. Please can you recommend something to me???!!!

  1. it's not that hard and you've probably already read it in school but it's about boys your age...october sky.

  2. 1. addressing the bolded question, what books aren't for reading?

    2. addressing your actual question, i really don't know. i don't know what famous five is, so sorry sorry sorry but i can't really help you. the only thing i could maybe suggest is... any jane austin books? i don't know if that's to girly for you, but pride and prejudice was amazing. and that has  some great english vocabulary in it. well, all of those books do. :]

  4. The Secret Garden is really good. A girl is sent to live with her uncle and she comes across a garden which has been locked up for 10 years (it belonged to her dead aunt). She then meets a boy and her cousin and they transform the garden.

I assume they mean a school reading book. Anyway, the dictionary is a book, isn't it? You don't read that.

  5. i always liked Vonnegut books. maybe you would. there not really adventure, but maybe give them a try. Start with breakfast of champions or slaughterhouse 5.

  6. A reading book? As opposed to a non-reading book?

  7. I highly recommend The DaVinci Code and Angels and Demons both by Dan Brown. They are full of action and suspense. Both are very intellectually interesting-they keep you thinking.

  8. Twilight by Stephanie Meyer

    Best book EVER!

It is kinda vampire-ish but I think is adventurey
