3,4 stars hotel, downtown, not very, very expensive. I know good hotels are not cheap. I don't need web site addresses for booking, I just need to tell me about a hotel you know and you like. Thanks a lot!

  1. I stayed at the intercontinental in Rome last year and it was wonderful. Its just off the spanish steps and walking distance to all attractions. It has a wonderful roof terrace to have a drink and watch the sun go down over rome. Truley the best palce to stay in Rome.

  2. I'd be interested to know what hotels you like in Paris. As for Roma, I stay at the Hassler Villa Medici at the top of the Spanish Steps. However, it may be too expensive for you. Pick up a tour book called Access Rome to search out something in your price range. It's a very useful book.

  3. Residenza Canali ai Coronari

    http://www.residenzacanali.com/01english...

Via dei Coronari is one of the most amazing streets of Rome, full of antique&art shop.

The price is 120 euro for single room

  4. we always stay in a hotel near the termini station

can't remember the name and i've stayed there 4 times but i can explain where it is

exit the termini station where the escalators are for the metro..  keep to the station side of the road turn left. after 100 metres there is a road on your right cross the road and there are 3 hotels in the same building to choose from all around €70 a room a night.. a tip when staying in rome don't take bed and breakfast just take the room you will find breakfast cheaper and better in a local bar .. stayin near the station is excellent for restaurants and the metro and trams.. enjoy it's a beautiful city and the imperial forum and collusium are fantastic

  5. Tree years ago I spent some days in Hotel New York, near Stazione Termini; in fact, it's a two stars hotel, but as fora my experience, it deserved at least three... It's on second or third floor and the lounge room is quite small, but apart from that it's a good and cheap hotel.

  6. I can recommend the Suite Condotti hotel on Via Condotti at the bottom of the spansh steps, only 6 rooms , large by roman standards luxurious spa baths very useful after a days sightseeing. It was average priced by Rome standards 150euro a night, very romantic though, they bring you breakfast in bed everyday as there is no restaurant.

I've also stayed at the Intercontinental at the top of the Spanish Steps, another lovely hotel although more expensive, this has more facilities and a lovely restaurant and piano bar.

But I preferred the intamacy of the smaller Suite condotti.

Both hotels were perfectly situated for sight seeing.

  7. I have just come back from Rome, yesterday.   Marcella Royal Hotel has its own web site.  It was through hotelclub.com with 4 night free.  Right in centre, lovely breakfast with roof top.  But the staff the best, helpful, spoke good English and went out of their way to help.Rooms clean, air con, bed comfortable a good base! On main bus route , not far from termini away from touristy areas so get to see locals but 5-10 mins walk from Trevi fountain etc!

  8. We stayed at the Novotel La Rustica recently....its a short bus ride from the centre of Rome but its really nice and quiet.....

  9. I'll suggest you hotel Eurostars International Palace -via Nazionale no.46. It's a beautiful one, with a gorgeous breakfast and, the most important, just in the center of Rome, very close to the main beauties of the city and, at the same time, being in the center, very safe. BUT, be careful and ask from the beginning for a large room. I hope I was helpful. Enjoy your trip!
