For very young kids, I am hoping it will have snakes and ladders, ludo and more. Which company sells a good package, and what is its title. Thanks in advance!

  1. Quite recently in Walmart I saw a very nice set of games - it included the classics - chess, checkers, chinese checkers, etc.  It was a wooden cube, about 18 inches square, and the game boards (also all wooden) stored inside it, and it was not expensive - only about $20.  Walmart also sells a number of games such as mancala for very reasonable prices - again a wooden board with game pieces for only a few dollars.  Have a look there and you might find things that will work.

  2. As far as I'm aware, there isn't one main company to buy a package like that from. You can find all-in-one game sets at most department stores and toy shops, so I recommend you just look around there. It's easier than paying shipping costs. The most common sets come with: chess, checkers, chinese checkers, backgammon, a deck of cards, dominoes and dice.

I've never seen a set for children's games, unfortunately. That's because children's games have custom boards, and so they can't be used for more than one game. So while chess and checkers can be played on one board, with a backgammon pattern on the back of the board, the same can't be done with games like Twister, Candland, Snakes and Ladders, etc. I'll do a Google search now, but you'll probably be better of buying the games seperately. Or just let your kids play with a set like the one I described above.. you may be suprised how easily they catch on to more difficult games!

You can also check out thrift stores. You can sometimes find game sets in good shape there for just a few dollars.

    Good luck!
