be careful when trying to sell something off of a subdomain. it might violate the policy of the domain owner/company.  read the fine print first before proceeding.

on the other hand, if youre gonna sell something, get your own domain name.  dont use a subdomain, that doenst sell as well. for example, "hey do you wanna buy my brand new invention? check out flyingcars.com!" sounds and sticks better that flyingcars.subdomain.com or domainname.com/flyingcars.

i recommend godaddy, only because i use them, but u can use whatever you want.  7.95 a year for domain name registration, and if you want to make your website owner information private (name address) buy the private registration addon for 8.95 more.  total of $20 something for an entire year.

then for webhosting, you'll have to pay around 4-7 a month, look around, theres godaddy, or i also heard of canaca, but look for cheap webhosts.

yeah, i know you didnt wanna spend money, but youll look more professional.

You can start a free website with Microsoft Office Live Small Business - http://tinyurl.com/olsbfree . Currently, MS is offering a free domain (i.e. urwebsite.com) for the first year. It has a great online design tool that lets you create web pages without coding. You can use Paypal on it and it comes with 500mb of storage.
