Can you recommend some anti virus software?

Question

I used AVG Free edition for a couple of years and it was really good. But now it's becoming obsolete and I 'must' upgrade to AVG 8 at the cost of 44 USD. Nothing that's going to break the bank, but since it applies to only one computer and lasts a year it's not so great for me since I'm probably going to get a new computer in the next 9 months or so.

So, can you recommend some good (free?) anti-virus software or,for those of you using AVG 8, say whether it's worth getting or not.

If you want to pay, try Nod32.

If you want free programs, give Antivir a try. Avast also.

I am using AVG 7.5 with daily update from internet. It works great for me till now. I am using it for last 3 months or so.

Install malwarebytes because the free version AVG doesn't remove backdoor Trojan's that hosts viruses.

The best free is.Avira AntiVir Personal.From File Hippo free or

to buy Avira Premium £12+ with anti spy.Try the free for a while.I tried AVG for 1 day.Not worth it.Takes a lot of memory

I recommend "Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0". You can buy a licence which is valid for 1 year.
