We're a young couple travelling to the dam in October, can you recommend any must do's or must see's?

We're a cultured but sinfull pair so looking for interesting things to do during the day and the best clubs, coffee shops and red light attractions at night.

Cheers.

    Happy trip ;-)

  4. the Amsterdam dungeon is brilliant and the Heineken museum is brill as well take a look at the red light district is an eye opener theres lots of pubs and restaurants and if your in to it then the coffee shops for a joint not my thing but worth a look  enjoy

  5. Visit the s*x Museum. It's a MUST.

Hours full of laughter and fun!

  6. amsterdam is tiny. i was there last month. the red light district is like a five minute walk from the main station. your hotel will probably be like a 10 minute walk from the station. everything is so close.

theres anne franks house. book in advance or the line goes all the way into the next street. (15 min)

theres the torture museum which was lame. the tulip market which is right next to it.(5 min)

take a train out to the windmill fields. and tulip gardens. (about 45mins away by train)

rent a bike and cycle around.

the coffee shops and stuff are everywhere. (5 min)

the hash cakes wont do anythign unless you eat like 200. save your money.

the spliffs or whatever you want to call them are also available in every coffee shop. i think now theyve imposed the no tobacco rule. either way get the joints which are all weed. the mix tobacco ones are too much tobacco.

about 5euro for the mix and 8 euro for the plain.

clubs ,coffee shops and whatever you want are all next to each other. theres no big named place that you have to go too. go to anyone of them.

(the minutes thing is time taken to walk from central station)

  7. My husband went not too long ago, and loved Anne Franks house, he said her toilet is made out of Blue Delpht and he said Maddame Tussauds Wax museum was fun too. And he also liked the Van Gough  museum as well. Those are fun for the day time. But like someone else mentioned everything is so close. Walking down the red light district and coffee shops and clubs are all right there. They also have the s*x museum,  with an awesome bike out front :) you are going to have a great time. we are going in March '09 watch for pick pockets my father in law "lost" his wallet that way!
