I have recorded my own music using Acid Pro and had to render the file saving it as a .wav I was wondering if you can burn a cd from music saved in .wav format?. I'm not quite sure what "rendering a file" means either.

  1. Rendering is a word used for transforming the file into a format, such as wave,mp3.

All audio cd's use wave files. (not to be confused with an mp3 cd only able to be played in an mp3 player)

Wave is a much better quality than mp3 but takes up alot more space.

If you use a program like Nero it will convert an mp3 into wave for you during the burning process.

Before mp3's all we had was wave files.

    I remember those days.

  2. Waveforms take up more space on a hard drive than MP3 files do.  But typically, waveforms are better quality than sounds saved in the MP3 format.  Many CD players (stereo cd players, not necessarily computer CD players) require that the sound data be in a wave form to play it back.

  3. yes, .wav can be saved on a CD-RW, but it takes up more space than an mp3, so less of this type of music will fit on a CD.

  4. You need ImTOO WMA MP3 Converter
