  1. think so

  2. Hi -- I am not certain, but I know there are a lot of small wineries around that might be happy to get some free bottles.

You might try e-mailing some of them to find out.

  3. Yes, they can be recycled, but I don't know if you can get paid for them.

  4. I think they're like a buck a bottle. Wahoo!

  5. yes

  6. all bottle, clear, green, brown bottles can be recycled in specially provided bins. but not sure how much money provided.  Plastic containers/cartons can also be recycled.

    good luck

  7. Sure.   Shelack the labels on that you like, then get a glass cutter and cut off the top; they make nice water glasses, especially if you find unique labels.

  8. Probably.  Check with your local recycler.  Some don't take certain types of glass.  If they say they take glass, then they'll certainly take the clear wine bottles, but maybe not some of the clouded or green ones.

  9. Wine bottles would be green or brown glass I guess.  So not really aluminium or plastic(?)

Most recylcling take glass - more than anything else. Generally don't get $$$ for them .... it's good for the soul :-)

I drink maybe too much el vino

  10. I live in So Cal, and they recycle glass of all colors. Some communities have a curbside pick up program. Almost all drop sites take the glass bottles, but I don't think they are getting any money for them, or if they are it's minimal. Not like aluminum cans that really CAN pay off. The way I see it, I am already getting the benefit of dRinking aloot of wine. So I offer the following suggestions.

I love the idea of making drinking glasses from them, after I bought some made from blue glass. At one time I started to price glass cutting equipment.

Or if I lived in a rural area and had the space I would start a glass building, like Grandma Prisbrey's Bottle Village. When I saw a picture of how the light was shining thru the bottles it was beautiful, and has that peaceful feeling of light shining thru the stained glass in a church. Well maybe the wine gave me that feeling. Bottle Village has always been on my must see places in California. And if they're still building when I go, I will bring them some wine bottles.

  11. They are recyclable, however they are not a CRV item and therefore, if you take them to the recycling center where you take your other CRV items (plastic water bottles, aluminum cans, etc.), you will NOT get money for them.

I live in Los Angeles County and I have gotten the machines to accept wine bottles before by twisting them as they enter the machine, however, I have been "warned" not to do it.  LOL  This last time I took in my CRV items, the wine bottle twist trick did not work.

  12. you can recycle it for sure, but maybe you can have money for it as well. just ask your question when you are buying your wine, they should know this.

  13. I can't give you any money, but would be happy to pick up what you have or what you may have in the future.  I have a tree project that includes all kinds of wine bottles.
