Question:

Can you recycle food related boxes - such as cereal, pasta ,etc.?

most of these boxes seem to be a type of thin cardboard maybe. If they are recyclable, which bin do they go in? Paper or cardboard?

  1. Sure can. This is called "chip board" in my area and usually has a separate bin at the convenience center.


  2. the material is called box board ,cereal, tissue,pasta(lasagna)granola bars,cookie boxes all fall into this category and YES they are all most certainly recyclable remove any plastic or other liner in the box and place into the paper bin or read the instructions on the bins as to were they may go look for "box board"

    . plastic ( i think but im pretty sure you can )

    the cereal goes in cardboard and if the pasta bowl is plastic

    it goes in PLASTIC

  8. Hi .I recycle all my food boxes now (All cardboards) Thick/thin

    I take the to TESCOS, as they have 2 lrge containers for all your  cardboards.BUT NOT PAPER  they go in a separate container, Milk cartons.ready meals boxes, any, does that help you??

  9. yes..we just found this out...and we had them in a seperate bag that way the recycle center could pout them in hte right bin

  10. Yes!  You can recycle these boxes.  That material is called, "box board".    A lot of places have co-mingled paper, so it may not matter. Just in case, talk to your local recycling coordinator to see which bin they would belong.

  12. Yes you can. Also, if you have any doubts, you can check the boxes to see if they have the recycle symbol on them ahead of time.
