Question:

Can you recycle liquor and wine bottles?

I work for two different restaurants and on a slow night, either one will go through 15 - 25 bottles of liquor and wine. On a busy night it can be up to 50 or more. I asked my boss and he said the people that pick up their beer bottles don't recycle liquor bottles. Is there any place that will recycle liquor and wine bottles?

  1. Yes, many glass recycling centers will take clear or colored glass. Check http://earth911.org/recycling/ to find a recycling center. You'll probably have to deliver it there yourself.

  2. Do you happen to know where rainbow grocery is???  It is in the fondren area of Jackson.  You can drive behind the store and drop off your bottles as well as other materials to do be recycled.

  3. Sure can.   I get 15c per bottle in maine.   They are mixed right in with other glass containers.

  4. Yes.  They are glass therefore can be recycled.  Bring them to the recycling center.  My local recycling center will pay for glass, too (I don't know by the kilo or lb).
