  1. the recycle triangle thing!

& yeah, most plastic bags are recycable!

  2. yes wal mart does it all the time--they usually have a barrel somewhere in the store--unless you have a truck load-you can take them there

  3. ok im not gonna say the same answer that was said 20 times but, I will say just buy a reuseable bag and you will be saving the planet!! cuts down on petroleum used to make those d**n bags anyways. Wal Mart just came out with a big size $1 reuseaable bag

  4. Yes, take it to a grocery store and/or Walmart.

  5. Only 1 percent of plastic bags are recycled worldwide -- about 2 percent in the U.S. -- and the rest, when discarded, can persist for centuries. They can spend eternity in landfills, but that's not always the case. "They're so aerodynamic that even when they're properly disposed of in a trash can they can still blow away and become litter," says Mark Murray, executive director of Californians Against Waste. It's as litter that plastic bags have the most baleful effect. And we're not talking about your everyday eyesore.

  6. Recycling plastic bags is very confusing and it varies from city to city. For instance, I live in a small town where we can recycle our plastic bags by putting them in a recycle bin as long as they have the proper symbol on them. In the same county, but 30 miles south, they can't recycle them unless they take them to the grocery store. So the true answer is it depends on exactly where you live, then you must call your garbage company to see what they take and don't take.

  7. yes most Wall-mart have a box at the front wear you can put them in..♥

  8. As long as there plastic you can recycle it.

  9. Yes you can. As a matter of fact, if you bring it to your local Lucky's store or Safeway, they usually have bins near their doorway where u can bring in all your plastic bags to recycle. These plastic bags can be melted and made into lawn chairs and other furnitures.

  10. no i believe plastic bags are non-biodegradable..unless they're synthesized to some point to make them recyclable

  11. The best way to recycle plastic bags is to reuse them or not use them at all. If you go shopping and accumulate several plastic bags, take them with you when you next return to the supermarket and reuse. Alternatively you can buy a shopper and use this to carry goods when shopping.

  12. I use them as trash can liners....so instead of buying more liners.......which  cause pollution to create them........I guess it's an easy recycling thing.....

Then I burn everything to heat the boiler in my garage...

    That's efficiency...I think

  13. In most areas, the only place you can recycle plastic bags is at stores.  They will take any plastic bags that have recycle numbers on them.  Be kind though - bundle 2s together and 4s together, don't mix them if you can help it.  Most curb side recycling will not take them, though you could check with your municipality (Marlborough will not).

  14. Yes, actually, plastic bags are the number one thing that needs to be recycled that is not. there are thounsands of pounds of plastic bags that (need to be) are not recycled.

  15. Save your bags and take them back to the store with you.

They will reuse them or put them in the container at the door to be recycled.

Better still get cloth bags and wash them and reuse them.

They are sturdy and easier to carry and they don't mind using them.

  16. most plastics are recyclable, just that it takes a much longer time than paper or metal.

  17. Plastic bags is a petroleum based product.  So it contains stored carbon that if released would contribute to global warming.  Since it is in a form that if buried will not pollute nor contribute to global warming.  Every bag that is buried keeps some carbon that if it were used as fuel would contribute to global warming.  So you could be green by recycling or sending it to a land fill.  And the more petroleum products that are buried the less is available for energy and global warming.  Funny world isn't it.

  18. yes.you can re use it again to lessen the pollution and the depletion of the ozone layer

  19. Most plastic is recyclable...most have the recycle triangle on them.

  20. Yes, look for the recycle logo.

  21. Yes you can and we should!  Plastic bags don't degrade naturally.  I know it doesn't seem like a plastic bag can take up much space but when the millions of bags are added up it comes out to TONS!  Certain stores like Walmart have programs to recycle them for you they usually have a bin by the entrance.  Other stores like IKEA will actually charge you for every bag you use to try to make people to use less of them.  There has even been talk about implementing these kinds of programs nationally.

  22. Yes you can.

  23. look for the recycle logo, there will be a number in the little triangle. you have to take it to a recycling plant.

  24. there are 6 types of plastic..

some are degradable .. some are far less so..

PET is one (they make bottles out of that)

err the logo, can be 2 things... one is a circle , one is a triangle (if memory serves)

    1 means recyclable

1 means "made out of recycled material" (NOT recyclable)

recycling plastic is confusing due to so many types of it, even if you want to with the best will in the world.

  25. Use it for mulch for flower and garden beds
