Depends on what your community does for recycling.

In most of my city, we have curbside pickup for recycling, with no limits! Every other week, we can put out our paper, newspaper, office paper, cans, foil, household plastics, (1-7), which recently expanded to include shopping bags and plastic wrap. It just has to be clean. Cardboard, boxboard, (all those cereal boxes, granola bar boxes, etc) the only thing they dont' pick up is glass, but there are recycling bins around town that you can drop off your glass at.

I'd check into what your city does for recycling and where you can take it. For the parts of the city that doesn't have curbside pickup, we can take our recyclables to those same bins, where you sort out your different mediums of recycling.

To a point. You have to be carefull of contamination and there some components to plastics that degrade and can cause health problems-chemicals. There was a story of some people who went to Russia before the iron curtain came down. They threw away a fold lock plastic sandwich bag and thought no more of it. Years later they went back to visit their relatives and they had fished the bag out of the trash, washed it and had been using it ever since.

My workplace uses a lot of shrinkwrap for containing parcels on palettes. The used shrinkwrap is collected by a truck for recycling into production of glue products and garden pots.
