  1. window envelopes u can re-use if u r careful openin them.

  2. Leave the envelopes intact.  Paper is paper, regardless of "stripe"

  3. I think train tickets are OK because they are made of card.

Window frames contain a plastic which cannot be recycled so you have to take it out. Some envelopes contains a recyclable plastic so look out for those.

Try visiting your local recycling centre and civic amenity for recycling tips and waste disposal.

  4. I recycle most paper products in my kitty litter box.

  5. The train tickets  should be fine as for the envelopes and ant thing else you are not sure about try the following and make yourself some cash as well :-What i have done is bought my self a briquette press and i shred up all waste paper my council wont take and i collect it from my freinds and then soak it in water overnight  then go to my local coal yard and buy a few bags of coal dust costs £20;00 for 40 bags, then i mix it all together and put it through the press it makes a brick that when put on a coal fire burns slowly with no smoke and a lot of heat great for banking up a fire at night to keep it on for the morning.I have a lot of customers now and i make a few quid to supplement my pension .I know a bit of work is involved but i only work for a couple of hours a day three days a week and at pres i clear £75;00 not too bad or what. The press is on sale at the moment in most of the eco mags that are going round and are cheap.

  6. I always cut the stripe off rail tickets. As for envelopes.  My council state that because of the glue on envelopes they do not want them for re-cycling.  I get round this by tearing of all the glue bits and put them in the general rubbish. There's not much left of the envelope to re-cycle but every little helps  Don't forget to re-cycle all the stamps.  I always take the windows out. Brown or card envelopes, I re-cycle with the cardboard.

  7. train tickets should be fine, the strip isnt that important.

yes, taking windows out is a good idea but not essential no matter what the council says. the problem is, that if a large amount of windowed envelopes came in at once, the plastic would ruin the recycling process but can be handled in small amounts.

this therefore means if you ask everyone to take them out, then the odd person who forgets or cant be bothered can be managed.

sounds like your really into the recycling thing, well done. most people find me annoying for recycling the smallest scrap of paper, but its not hard work to just not put it in the bin!!!
