  1. One, no. Not worth doing. They are ferrous. If you have a ton of them, that is worth a little.

  2. It depends on the recycling center.  If you're referring to the ones that accept cans and bottles that usually are found in grocery store parking lots, then the answer is no.  Those centers only accept material that specifically has a redemption code for your state.  If you're referring to a recycling center that might accept scrap metal, then the answer is perhaps, but you should call ahead to confirm.

  3. you can't do soup cans or cat food cans.i have many cats and would make lots of money off the cans but so far have been unable to find anyone to take them.heck i wouldn't care to wash them out and save them.its a return on money to me.i feed alot of stray cats that people throw out.

  4. nope

  5. I don't think so because I think they are tin. I think you can recycle the small cat food cans because they are aluminum.

  6. These cans are probably steel, so they are worth some money when recycled.  However, you are unlikely to get paid for them at a recycling center.

Recycling centers sell their aluminum and steel cans to scrap metal dealers.  You probably have at least one or two in your area.  These are the people who would pay money for your cans and whatever other scrap metal you have.

However, to make any money, you will have to sell your cans in bulk.  One can will probably get you very little.  A trash bag full of cans might get you a couple of bucks.  Contact your local scrap metal dealer and ask how much they are paying per pound.

ONE LAST NOTE:  When you recycle soup cans, be sure to clean them out and take the paper label off.  When the cans are melted down, paper has the potential to cause a flash fire which is dangerous to steel plant workers.

  7. I assume the can is steel.  Look up steel and/or steel recycling in the phone book.  Here around Columbus Ohio there is a half dozen places places that will pay for steel.  I got 6 cents a pound but I hear that it is up to 11 cents.  I don't rely on cans for the bulk of the weight though.  Mostly they go into the steel pile because the pile is already there.
