Can you relist in the marines with a other than honorable discharge?

My friend was given a other than Honorable discharge for failing a drug test during SOI, he was never placed in a unit.However he wants to get back in the marines. Is there a chance he can get back in? Its been 3 years since he was discharged.

    An other than honorable discharge sticks like glue.  He will never be allowed to enlist in any branch of the military.


  2. Tell him to take his DD 214 with him and to speak with a recruiter

  3. No Sir, he will Never be allowed into any Service...ever...

  4. No.  While the military will often give you a waiver for civilian drug use, once you're in, you're held to a higher standard.  If you're kicked out for drug use, there are no more 2nd chances.
