For some reason my car can do this and I want to know if every car can do this or has a safety feature been by-passed. We just bought the car used. I have never had a car which allowed me to do this so it kind of freaks me out. Thanks.

  1. all Honda's come with a lock in the ignition..if your's doesn't work I'd take it to Honda and get it fixed...heaven forbid one of your kids gets in the car and it rolls by itself and someone gets hurt.

whoever had your car before you must have by passed the ignition lock.

  2. Well if you mean turning off the engine and removing the key while the car is still in Drive, (you forgot to put it in park) then yeah, you probably can do that, i accidentally did that on my 08 Honda Civic.

What you shouldn't be able to do though is just pull the key out with the car still running, if you can do that, make the Honda dealer check it out.

  3. why would you ever leave the car in drive
