Can you renew your passport in one day in madrid spain?

I need to get my passport renewed in one day and I live in Spain does anyone know if you can do this in Madrid and if you do do you have the telephone number to call.

What is your nationality?  If you are American, you cannot get a new passport in a day; it will be sent from the US and can take up to five days.

If you have a Spanish passport, once you get to the officer in the Police Station, the passport is renewed in less than 10 minutes. Remember they charge you a small fee.

If you have other citizenship other than Spanish, it may take longer. In the case you're American, once you've completed and submitted all paperwork you'll have your passport in a period ranging from three to six weeks.
