Can you rent a house out whilst trying to sell

Settlement of divorce demanded that a house be sold to pay off partner, is it legal for that house to be rented out whilst trying to sell, in order to make more money? without paying partner?

You have to make sure who ever rents it does so with a lease on a month to month basis are they are aware as soon as the house is sold they will have X amount of time to move which also must be stated in the rental contract, not a lot of people will rent a house out that is up for sale under those conditions, especially anyone will children in school, would you want to/
