  1. You will at best rarely find any apparel (other than helmets) for rent.  Your best bet is to try to buy before you find yourself in an overpriced resort area.  I've seen ski apparell in thrift stores at garage sale prices, maybe this could work for you if you get lucky and find the right size.  If you do have to go to a store Colombia makes quality ski apparel at reasonable prices.

  2. absolutely, i live in florida and i have apparel but it makes for a lot larger bag for travel so now i no longer bring it all along and i rent them at the same places that rent the ski gear...

my recommendation is to use the net to get the name of rental places and pre-arrange your gear (and apparel) ahead of time...

big plus in doing this is you will always  be using the newest gear...   it isn't like a long time ago when places would rent out the same gear and apparel year after year.... the manufacturers give huge price breaks for the rental shops to offer new gear each year....

    GOOD LUCK

PS.... I noticed the other comments above all say no, but i will tell you now that I have been doing it for the past 4 years.... i have been skiing (1) week early season and (1) week in the heart of season every year for 14 years...

  3. you might be out of luck, go to TJ max and see if you could find some stuff at half price.  I've found found $150 snowpants for $80.  You would probably be better off buying your gear, at leest that way you can use it more than once.  even if you can rent at a resort, it will probably more than buying your own.  good luck and have a good season.

  4. Most resorts dont do this because of health codes.  Do you really want to wear a pair of snowpants that some kid took a dump in when he couldnt make it back to the lodge?

  5. I have NEVER seen apparel for rent.

The closest I have come to seeing something besides skis, boots, and poles being rented is avalanche gear (available from some outdoor types of shops) and helmets.

Pants, socks, underwear, jackets, goggles, deodorant, etc, must be purchased by you.
