I have a wireless network with one main PC running lots of software and 3 other computers networking through it. I want to use my laptop where you can't do anything with it other than when you switch it on it only wants to access one programme on the main PC. Is that possible?

  1. yes

  2. Yes, you have to go to the wireless router address and change the settings. In order to find the router address, go try through a search engine and put whatever the name of your router is ____ (linksys, belkin, etc) router address. And the passwords are usually Admin and Admin.

  3. Yes, it is possible you can assign user privileges/level

  4. You almost can. Make sure you add that program in startup so that whenever it boots up, it will start that program automatically. also create new user for that laptop with restricted access so no one can install / uninstall or change any settings.

  5. Of course you will allow this computer specific user name with password on your Server in Windows Firewall.

Then you will map a different Drive letter specific for this laptop.  And create a new SHARED FOLDER-ProgramName on that Drive letter.

Then drag a copy of that file you want to share, or a shortcut into the special shared folder.

Then give access to only that one drive letter to the laptop.

  6. If the laptop is windows then put a shortcut to the program in the startup folder, or, start - all programs - startup, then remove the keyboard and mouse.

  7. it is with XP professional and a good setup.
