In an attempt to clear some pictures from my camera, i used the delete option where it deletes pictures with people in it. I didnt realize, however, that i deleted a picture that I really needed! Is there any way that I can retrieve this picture after I've deleted it?

I have a Canon Powershot SD870 IS

  1. Yes, but it will cost you a few $$. Don't shoot any more pix or do any editing on that card. Pull it from the camera.

    Now either:

    1) take it to a photo shop where they will retrieve your deleted files for a fee, or

    2) download a software package and do it yourself very easily. You put the CF or SD card in a reader plugged into a USB port, run the retriever package and it will give you a thumbnail of every retrievable file.

I use CardRaider -- costs about $20, works fine. You can Google it and have it in your machine in two minutes. You can try it for free to see if it will work for you.

  2. Sorry but I can not on my canon powershot. If you stored them on your PC it will still be in a file? Good luck!

  3. I believe you can. Do a search on this and some results will show up. It's been asked quite a few times.

I think as long as you don't format the card, you can retrieve the pictures.

Edit: some links that may help below. Also make sure you don't take any more pictures on that memory card. You will permanently erase the deleted pictures and there will be no way to recover them.
