you should be able to without a problem.

They will just ask what was wrong and you can just simply say it wasn't for your child or whatever and would just like to return it.  Since you have the receipt they should give you your cash back without a problem as well.

Go back and return them.

You sure can. They will give you back cash if returned within 30 days. Store credit after 30 days. Glad you kept your receipt, because if you didn't have it, they will not accept anything at all back even if it was a Toys r Us exclusive.
