  1. No!  And you can't re-use the PTFE tape either.

  2. yes if you can get it off intact and it will still fit over another pipe

  3. No.  A used one will have been compressed to form a seal.  You can't undo that.

  4. yes provided you are are just inserting a replacement tap and you leave it on the pipe and just re connect the new tap but I suggest you clean it up first with wire wool any dirt on it will probably make it leak,,if you mean take it off and use it again, why bother new ones are about 50p for 4,,use a new one

  5. no don't risk it , always use new ones

  6. confizz obviously doesn't do plumbing, but to answer your ? yes proving that the inner and outer surfaces of the olive are not scored/scratched. I usually just ''clean'' them with very fine emery paper and then use PTFE tape on the fitting just to make sure everything is sealed.

Now the other types of olive are they ones you can  eat, make olive oil from or 'she' Olive is Popeyes girl friend.

  7. you shouldn't but can you will need to keep an eye on the fitting for a while and make sure it is not leaking. problem is that they are supposed pinch to form to the fitting so they kinda crush when you tighten them. you never know if there is enough flex left to get a good seal so it is best to just replace and save the head ache. that said I have done it. in a pinch (pardon the pun)

  8. Only as a third world wedding ring :-)

  9. If its already on the pipe and your changing a fitting then yes. If you think you can take it off and use it somewhere else then no.

  10. what the h**l is a brass olive???? only one way to find out....eat it....smelly!!!!
