I know a motorcycle learners permit is way different than one for a car, but i heard you are allowed to stay on smaller slower roads alone with only the learners permit. Is this true?

  1. Check your state laws regarding a permit, In Pennsylvania the only restrictions to a permit are no passengers and no riding at night.

    -EDIT-

I looked it up and the answer is no you must have a licensed motorcyclist with you.

  2. In Illinois where I live the only restriction is you can't ride at night and can't ride with a passenger. Technically your supposed to ride with someone else with a motorcycle license for at least a year, however not everyone has friends with bikes and I think cops understand that a little bit so they don't really mess with you. I had a lady cop see me riding I told her I only had a permit and she complimented me on my bike and gave me some tips for passing the test.

How would you define small?  What if the police who pulled you over define small differently?

No.  You NEED a license on any PUBLIC road.

    Good Luck...
