Can you ride a road bike with a wheel size 24x1 3/8 in a road race?

  1. Probably not.  Any bike used in a road race in the US (and I'm assuming Europe as well) must conform to UCI standards and that means you must have 700c wheels.  I'm not sure if they make an exception for 650 wheels that are used on some smaller womens/youth road bikes, but I'm sure that a 24" wheel would be out.  You can always talk to your local race promoter and see if you'd be allowed to race it though.
